page two - A Royal Suicide - Monsieur Paradol, French Minister Plenipotentiary, shot himself at Washington, on the 20th. He had just been appointed and arrived in Washington a week previous to committing the fatal deed... / Sudden Death - The telegraph on Saturday announced the sudden death at Cresson, on Friday night, of Mr. G.C. Franciscus, general agent of the Pennsylvania Rail Road. Mr. F. passed off so quietly that his wife knew nothing of his death until she awoke in the morning, although she occupied the same be he did. / Dead - Gen. Wm. A. Leech, Register of Wills of Philadelphia, died in that city on the 20th, after a lingering illness... / ... Evansville, July 11 ... Peter Vandermade, a Hollander, and Lucy Ann Balen, a mulatto, who were arrested on Saturday, were released from custody and their marriage declared lawful. /Administrator's Notice - Estate of Solomon Pyles, late of Pike township / Administrator's Notice - Estate of Robert H. page three - Struck by Lightning - On Monday last, during the prevalence of a thunder storm, Mr. Joseph Grasberger, of Carooll township, was driving a team of two horsed attached to a wagon loaded with hay toward his barn. On top of the hay were two little sons of Mr. G. A bolt of lightning descended upon the wagon, and did the following fearful damage: one of the boys was killed outright; the clothing of the other was set on fire, buring him severeley (sic); the two horses fell dead in their tracks; the load of hay was burned up, and the wagon was considerably charred. Mr. G. escaped uninjured. - "Ebensburg Alleghanian" / Married - On July 17th, 1870, by Rev. S. Croft, Mr. Alex. Lutz to Miss Joanna Schnars, both of Covington township. - On July 20, 1870, by John W. Shugert, Esq., Mr. Lewis R. Carter, of Lawrence township, to Miss Maggie Griffin, of Clearfield. - On July 21st, 1870, by Rev. W. M. Burchfield, Mr. B. F. Hoffman, of Johnstown, Cambria county, Pa., to Misss E. J. Henry, of Ferguson township. / Died - In Morris township, on July 19th, 1870, John C. Merrell, agedd 27 years, 4 months and 14 days.

page four - Hon. Daniel S. Norton, United states Senator from Minnesota, died in Washington, of consumption. He had been confined in bed for some three or four weeks and his death has been daily expected. Mr. Norton was born on the 12th of April, 1829, at Mount Vernon, Kenyon county, ohio. / Philip R. Forney, son of Col. John W. Forney, who had his leg crushed by a railroad car, died at New Orleans, recently.
