Quite a number of accidents happened throughout the county, only one however proved fatal, that of a man named Evans, in Huston township, while firing off anvils one exploded killing him instantly, and seriously wounding two others.../ Married - On May 12th, 1870, by Rev. page four - The Perry County "Democrat" says: "On Sunday morning, 22d of May, the wife of Mr. Samuel McConnell, of Toboyne township, this county, gave birth to a child without eyes. Our information, a gentleman of veracity, says that there is not even the resemblance of an eye in the place where eyes ought to be. Otherwise the child - a boy - is perfectly formed, stout and healthy. It is a wonderful freak of nature."
