page three - Fatal Affray - On Saturday the 16th a quarrel occurred on the turnpike leading from Tyrone to Glen Hope, just across the Clearfield line, in Blair county, between two younng men, named Nevling and Wood. The former struck the latter on the forehead with a stone, and injured him so severely that he died on the 16th. Several others have been arrested with Nevling and are in prison. Neither of the parties have families. / Married - In Harrisburg, on September 15th, 1870, by Rev. G. F. Stelling, Mr. E. M. Moore, formerly of Clearfield, to Miss Lile Sarch. - On September 4th, 1870, by Josiah Evans, Esq., Mr. David Bell, of Bell township, to Miss Clementine Hoover, of Lawrence township. / Died - At Clover Hill, in Lawrence township, on Thursday, September 8th, 1870, James J., son of Wilson P. and Martha C. Tate, aged 8 months, 3 weeks and 2 days. - In Sedalia, Mercer county, Ohio, on September 5th, 1870, Mrs. Abbie Beams, in the 66th year of her age. Mr. Beams removed from Brady township, this county, one year ago. - In Girard township, on September 12th, 1870, Jacob Stine, aged 69 years, 4 months and 12 days. / Suicide - We learn that a man named Thomas, residing in Philipsburg, on Friday last deliberately took a pistol and blew his brains out. No cause is assigned for this rash act. He leaves a wife and seven or eight children in rather slim circumstances.
